Overdraft Protection Options

Understanding Overdrafts: An overdraft occurs when you do not have enough money in your account to cover a transaction, but we pay it anyway. We can cover your overdrafts in two different ways:

  1. We have a Standard Overdraft Plan that comes with your checking account. This plan is outlined in the table below. 
  2. We also offer overdraft protection plans, such as linking to a savings account, which may be less expensive than our Standard Overdraft Plan. These plans, Overdraft Transfer Service and Money Plus Line of Credit, are also outlined in the table below.

Standard Overdraft Plan

As part of our standard overdraft protection, we may authorize and pay overdrafts for these types of transactions at our discretion up to a maximum of $250.00 for Regular Checking accounts:

  • Checks and other transactions presented with your checking account number. 
  • Automatic bill payments. 
  • Recurring ATM/Debit card transactions, such as using your ATM/Debit card to automatically pay a monthly gym membership.

• No fee is charged for aggregate overdrafts totaling $10 or less on any business day. 

• We will charge a $32.00 fee for each item returned for non-sufficient funds or paid into overdraft, with a maximum of 5 item fees imposed per business day. 

• You will be charged a one time extended overdraft fee of $15 on the 5th business day the available balance remains below zero.

Overdraft Transfer Service

This service links your checking account to a secondary deposit account and automatically transfers money into your checking account to prevent your account from becoming overdrawn.

A charge of $10.00 is assessed each time an advance is made against a linked secondary deposit account.

No Overdraft Coverage With this option, any transaction over the amount available in your account will be declined or returned automatically.

• No fee is charged for aggregate overdrafts totaling $10 or less on any business day. 

ATM and One-Time Point of Sale Overdraft Coverage
We do not authorize and pay overdrafts for these types of transactions:

  • ATM transactions.
  • Everyday ATM/Debit Card transactions (purchases made on a day-to-day basis).

We do not guarantee that we will always authorize and pay any type of transaction. If we do not authorize and pay an overdraft, your transaction will be declined or returned.
