(Paso Robles, CA) - Vineyard owners and farmers in our community rely heavily on thousands of workers to plant, care for, and harvest wine grapes, fruits, and vegetables grown locally. On November 2nd, Heritage Oaks Bank presented a check and donation for $ 2,500.00 to The Fund for Vineyard and Farm Works at the San Luis Obispo County Community Foundation to provide grants to organizations that help agricultural workers and their families throughout the San Luis Obispo County.

“We are so thankful for Heritage Oaks Bank’s ongoing support for the Fund for Vineyard and Farm Workers. It demonstrates the bank’s commitment to our local community, which is one of the reasons we so value our relationship with Heritage Oaks,” says Brian and Johnine Talley, Owners of Talley Vineyards.

"The Talley family is an inspiration to all of us who make the Central Coast our home. Heritage Oaks Bank wants to mirror this inspiration and one way to show support is our involvement with The Fund for Vineyard and Farm workers. We make a difference in our community by what we give and this partnership with the Talleys defines community spirit," says Mitch Massey, Senior Vice President Marketing, Heritage Oaks Bank.

The Talley family established the Fund for Vineyard and Farm Workers at the San Luis Obispo County community Foundation in December 2004. They envisioned the Fund to be a collaborative effort, and since then, a number of other grape growers and wineries have donated grapes to make the charity wine.

From its inception, the goal of the fund was to raise $100,000 every year. So far, more than $400,000 has been raised through wine sales and by direct donations. The beneficiaries of the fund have included the Boys and Girls Club of Oceano, the Clinica de Tolosa in Paso Robles, a nonprofit dental clinic for children of low-income families, and the Children’s Health Initiative of San Luis Obispo, among others.
