Heritage Oaks Bank Welcomes New Compliance Officer - 11/21/08

(Paso Robles, CA)-Heritage Oaks Bank is pleased to announce that Sarah Scott has joined the bank as its new Compliance and Community Reinvestment Act Officer. Ms. Scott has been a complaince professional in the banking industry for more than seven years. She spent five years as a Vice President of Compliance and CRA with The Jackson State Bank & Trust, the largest community bank in Wyoming, and almost three years in the same position at County Bank, a $2 billion, 39-branch bank headquartered in Merced, California.

While at County Bank, Ms. Scott was the driving force behind the founding of the McLane High School Highlander Branch, the first student-run bank West of the Mississpippi, and one of the only a handful of student-run branches in the country. In her capacity as CRA Officer, she has also been a key partner in the Central Valley Financial Literacy Initiative, a collaborative group of banks, community based organizations, and governement entities dedicated to empowering Central Valley residents through financial education. Ms. Scott obtained a CRCM (Certified Regulatory Compliance Manger) certification from the Insititue of Certified Banks in 2007. She has been a panelist and speaker at several banking roundtables and forums during the past three years.

"As a Community Reinvestment Act Officier, I've been able to help financial institutions connect with and give back to their communities in innovative ways, and I hope to accomplish this with the Central Coast communities served by Heritage Oaks Bank as well," continues Scott.

Sarah is an Ohio native with graduate degrees in English, Business Management, and Law from The University of Akron, in Akron Ohio.
