At Heritage Oaks Bank, the online safety of our customers is an important priority. On this page, you'll find special online safety alerts of interest to Heritage Oaks Bank customers. The FDIC also provides general alerts to consumers. You can read these alerts on the FDIC Web site.

12/12/06 Alert!
This is to advise all Heritage Oaks Bank customers that a fraudulent Phishing scam is once again taking place as of December 12, 2006. If you receive an e-mail with the subject line: Urgent Notification and the body of the e-mail stating:

"This is your official notification from Heritage Oaks Bank that the service(s) listed below
will be deactivated and deleted if not renewed immediately. Previous notifications have
been sent to the Billing Contact assigned to this account. As the Primary Contact, you
must renew the service(s) listed below or it will be deactivated and deleted"

DO NOT RESPOND to such e-mails. Forward the e-mail (as an attachment) to fraud@heritageoaksbank.com for further investigation.

Heritage Oaks Bank will never contact customers with an e-mail indicating your account has been or will be deactivated or deleted if not renewed.

NEVER click on the link within such e-mails and submit personal information such as credit or debit card numbers, Personal Identification Numbers (PIN) or any other code. If you receive such an e-mail please forward the e-mail as an attachment to fraud@heritageoaksbank.com.

12/08/06 Alert!

10/19/06 Alert!
The FDIC is warning of a particularly virulent phishing email circulating on the Internet. This email includes a link which, when clicked on, will download malicious software to your computer. DO NOT click on the link provided in the phishing e-mail.

10/2/06 Alert!
Within the last 90 days criminals using the internet have conducted two separate “Phishing” expeditions in an effort to gather online banking account login information from our customers. These efforts have been focused and aggressive. Please click here to learn more about these recent incidents, and about how to protect yourself.

7/1/06 Alert!
A fraudulent e-mail posing as a customer satisfaction survey from Heritage Oaks Bank is circulating. It offers $5 in return for participation. When you click on the link in the email, you are presented with the survey and asked for your account and personal identification number (PIN). Please note that Heritage Oaks Bank will NEVER ask for your PIN or account number via phone or e-mail.

If you have received one of these suspicious emails, please forward it to fraud@heritageoaksbank.com to assist us in tracing the source of the attempted fraud. Please include any suspicious email as an attachment to the email you send in order to preserve the original sender information.
